Churches Helping Churches

Friends of InFaith: Northwest Oregon,

As fall approaches and harvest celebrations draw near, we pray there will also be a renewed harvest of souls in your communities.  At InFaith: Northwest Oregon we continue to work to encourage, equip, advise and assist the twenty small churches which many of you attend.  We recognize the spiritual Harvest is a joint effort, with the Holy Spirit guiding and empowering each of us to share the love of Jesus with those around us.  No one of us is expected to work alone in this effort.  As the apostle Paul wrote:

“I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.”  (1 Corinthians 3:6)

Here are just a few ways we are laboring to “water” the Lord’s work in your area:

SSF PASTORS’ EMERGENCY FUND HELPS OUT IN TIMES OF CRISIS
InFaith: Northwest Oregon’s partners at Sunday School Fellowship have long assisted member churches in times of need.  This month, SSF trustees renewed their commitment to help shepherds of the flock through the SSF Pastors’ Emergency Fund.  If your pastor is facing an emergency need, Sunday School Fellowship wants to help. Scan the QRT code next to this article or Click here to learn more.  Or contact me at thiscox@infaith.org .  SSF is a group of churches helping churches as we serve the Lord together.

NWXNW MEETS TOMORROW!
Leaders of churches in the far northwest portion of our ministry area are gathering tomorrow (Tuesday, September 16 at 3 PM) at Farmhouse Coffee in Clatskanie.  I am looking forward meeting with you again, after summer ministry caused a brief pause in these get-togethers.  It will be exciting to hear what the Lord has been doing in your communities over the summer, and what He may have in store for you in the months ahead.  Coffee’s on me!

INFAITH SANDY FELLOWSHIP BREAKFAST COMING WEDNESDAY

The Tollgate Inn in Sandy will again serve as the gathering place for our monthly Sandy Fellowship Breakfast, Wednesday, September 17 at 9 AM.  This informal get-together is always a great time of edifying conversation with pastors and ministry leaders from the eastern part of our field.  If you plan on coming, please let me know with an email or text, so I can make sure to have a seat for you when you arrive.

INFAITH PORTLAND PASTORS PRAYER IS ON TAP THURSDAY

This is one of those months where all three of our pastors/leaders events fall on the same week.  Our dedicated prayer time at Woodland Park Chapel was postponed from last week due to some scheduling conflicts.  Please join us at 10 AM Thursday to go before the Lord together in thanksgiving, celebration and intercession for the needs of those spreading the Gospel in the greater Portland area.

YOUR AREA MISSIONARY IS TAKING SOME REST

Caroline and I have been blessed with the opportunity take a little time off for rest and recreation at the end of this month.  So, after Caroline helps out with music at Aims Community Church this coming Sunday (November 21), we might be hard to contact until October 2nd.  We pray this blessing of Sabbath will leave us refreshed and revitalized to continue the rewarding work to which God has called us.

May He also allow you the opportunity to enter into His rest as you seek His will daily.
