Advance 2024 is about to happen!

ADVANCE 2024 IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN!
I am looking forward to sharing the weekend with many of you pastors, church leaders, missionaries and spouses Friday through Sunday at Twin Rocks Friends Camp and Conference Center.  Our speaker, Roy Yanke of PIR Ministries will be flying in Thursday and settling at Twin Rocks Thursday night.  The John Abraham Worship Band will start setting up in the Pacific Woods Lodge on Friday afternoon, and the first session begins at 7:30 Friday night.

My favorite local weather forecaster says warm southerly air is coming into northern Oregon on Wednesday and temperatures will be rising everywhere but the Columbia River Gorge.  That suggests that the Portland Metro ice storm predicted for tonight should be all over and thawing well underway on Thursday.  Lord willing, by Friday folks headed over the coast range to Advance 2024 should see rain, and maybe some residual snow alongside the clear roadways, even at the higher elevations.  Twin Rocks Friends Camp currently has no snow or ice and says folks who recently arrived were able to make it over the coast range on Highways 26 and 6 yesterday.  Personally, I plan to stick to Highway 26 all the way to 101 this year, just to be extra safe.  If you cannot make it to ADVANCE because of the weather, we will understand…but please wait until Friday morning to make your decision, then call me at 971-645-2777 if you do decide to cancel.  We would love to share the fellowship, blessing and warm conversation around the fireplace with all of you.

BUT FIRST: THE SANDY FELLOWSHIP BREAKFAST!
Join us Wednesday morning, January 17th at 9 AM at Tollgate Inn for the monthly Sandy Fellowship Breakfast.  Open to church and ministry leaders from the eastern portion of InFaith’s northwest Oregon field, this no-host event is a great opportunity for “iron sharpening iron” over a great meal.  RSVP’s are helpful by calling or texting me at 971-645-2777.  But they aren’t required, so show up if you can!

Remember, even the wind and the waves obey Him (Matthew 8:27), so our Savior can certainly guide us safely through a little snow and ice!  Stay warm and blessed!
