Praying Our Way, Day to Day!

Dear Friend of InFaith: Northwest Oregon,

Here are a few things happening among the churches and leaders in our field.  As God works through His people, I invite you to join us when you can, pray without ceasing, and stay in touch!  Your partnership in this work for the Lord is greatly appreciated!

Portland Pastors’ Prayer
Thursday, April 11, 10 AM
Columbia Community Bible Church
420 NE Marine Drive, Portland
Location Change for Tomorrow’s Prayer Meeting:

Road and utility work near Woodland Park Chapel is requiring our monthly prayer meeting to move to Columbia Community Bible Church tomorrow.  Please join us as we thank the Lord for His work in our communities and ask His blessing on the ministries to which he has called all of us.

Conversations at Carver
While Carver Church pastor Seth Lewis and his wife Crystal were away celebrating their 27th wedding anniversary, Caroline and I were pleased to worship with their congregation this Sunday.  As she often does, Caroline brought her guitar and led in singing praises to the Lord. I was privileged to share a message from 1 John 4, in which the apostle makes clear distinctions between the Spirit of Truth which abides in believers, and the Spirit of Error which infects the world.  It’s a heavy topic, but also a cause for rejoicing that Jesus did not leave us alone to sort out our own path in life.  He left us the Holy Spirit, who guides us into truth along the way.

Sandy Fellowship Breakfast
Wednesday, April 17, 10 AM
Tollgate Inn38100 Highway 26, Sandy

Do you like a little food with your fellowship?  Then join us next Wednesday at Tollgate Inn in Sandy for our monthly Sandy Fellowship Breakfast.  The informal, no-host meal is a great place for stimulating spiritual conversation and sharing among fellow shepherds (pastors and church leaders).  There is room at the table for you.  And if not, we can always pull up a few more chairs!

Looking forward to a Refreshing Blessing

Caroline and I will be enjoying time later this month with InFaith missionaries and field staff from all over the country, as we gather for our annual Refresh conference, April 22-25 at Mt Hermon Conference Center near Santa Cruz, CA.  The InFaith Home Office staff always do an excellent job making sure this conference is inspiring, informative and refreshing for those of us who are serving in the field.  Mt Hermon is a great location for the two of us to unwind: Caroline grew up in nearby San Jose, CA and we lived just south of there, in Salinas, when we were first married.  We hope to spend a couple days in the Redwoods after the conference, rekindling old memories and rejoicing in how far the Lord has brought us since then.

May God also bless you with refreshing times this month as spring takes hold and new life abounds around us.
