A Resurrection Celebration!

It was a joy to celebrate the Resurrection this Sunday at Mountain Home Church (Colton, OR).  Caroline and I were pleased to lead music and share a message from Isaiah 53, celebrating what Jesus accomplished on the cross by taking our burdens upon Himself.  Mountain Home Pastor Brian Simmons had just returned the previous night from a mission to Nepal, but still made it to the morning service along with his wife Rose.  We thank the Lord for protecting Brian in his travels.

This coming Sunday, April 7, we will be blessed to share with the congregation at the Carver Church (Damascus, OR) as Pastor Seth Lewis takes a well-deserved break.

Hudson Park Bible Church (Rainier, OR) is rejoicing to have a member of their steering committee return from a recent mission to Peru.   Forest Teele plans to share that experience with the NWxNW ministry leaders fellowship the next time we get together.  In the meantime, the church is also rejoicing to have Clint Teele join the steering committee, along with his brother and Jim Van Voorst.

Please continue in prayer for Helen and Louis Hoffman, long-time servants of the Lord here in Northwest Oregon and past recipients of InFaith’s Bryce O Bartruff Servant-Leader Award.  Helen, who turned 99 in January, remains in comfort care at Hopewell Hospice in Portland.  Their son Tom Hoffman says Louis (who is 97) has already said goodbye to his bride and is trusting the Lord for the timing of her homecoming.  Tom says of his mother’s eventual passing into the arms of Jesus, “It’s not a tragedy, it’s a victory!”
