No "Artificial Intelligence" in Heaven!
February 10, 2025
Dear Friends of InFaith: Northwest Oregon,
I am so thankful there is no “Artificial Intelligence” in Heaven! There we can rely on our omniscient and omnipotent Creator, who possesses all knowledge, wisdom and power, and who has set everything in the universe in its correct order. No more need to depend upon mysterious computer algorithms to determine what the word order should be in my sentences, no matter how well I had them written in the first place. There will no longer be the need to search the ether for photos that disappear from emails or formatting that suddenly changes in the middle of drafting a Weekly Memo! In Heaven, we can rely upon the One who never changes, and whose mercies are new every morning!
Until then, we will have to “consider it all joy” (James 1:2) when we encounter diverse tests and trials of computer composition. Today I am praying that the endurance this process produces in me will arrive before the software changes again…and that the rest of this email comes out somewhat more legible than the multiple drafts I have attempted today! (Or maybe, one of my more computer-savvy friends reading this can talk me through developing an unchanging template for this Weekly Memo that might save me hours of work in the future!)
Because today we are looking forward to a handful of rewarding ministry experiences in the weeks ahead, which I would like to share with you!
We are looking forward to Portland Pastors’ Prayer, Thursday, February 13 @ 10 AM
Join us at Woodland Park Chapel, 1914 NE 102nd Ave, Portland this Thursday at 10 AM for our monthly Portland Pastors’ Prayer gathering. We will pray for you as you join us in praying for others who share the love of Jesus throughout Northwest Oregon.Coffee’s On for NWxNW, Tuesday, February 18th @ 3 PM
Pastors and church leaders from the six churches in our far northwest corner will gather February 18, at 3 PM at Farmhouse Coffee in Clatskanie. The NWxNW fellowship gatherings have been a great way for ministry leaders to build each other up as they share ideas and prayers and form ministry partnerships. The agenda is always fluid and the atmosphere is casual as we meet to bless each other and praise God together. The Table’s Ready for Sandy Fellowship Breakfast, Wednesday, February 19th @ 9 AM
Food for the stomach and food for the soul go together at the monthly Sandy Fellowship Breakfast, February 19 at 9 AM at the Tollgate Inn in Sandy. Come share in the blessing with other pastors and church leaders from churches in the eastern portion of InFaith’s Northwest Oregon Field.ADVANCE 2006 Might Move to Midweek
We would like your opinion as we get ready to book dates for next year’s weekend at the coast for pastors, missionaries, church leaders and their spouses. Please click here to weigh in on whether or not you like the midweek idea. It is a simple, 3-question anonymous survey which only takes most folks a minute or two to complete. So far, the eight responses we have received have been helpful, but not quite a large enough sample size to base a decision upon.Sunday School Fellowship’s Annual Meeting is coming up Saturday, March 22 @ 10 AM!
Each church in the Fellowship (which includes most InFaith affiliated churches in Northwest Oregon) is asked to send two voting delegates to the get-together, Saturday, March 22 at 10AM at the Carver Church, 16388 SE Highway 224, Damascus. Come be part of local churches helping local churches in the Great Commission! And may the unchanging God who sets all things in order keep you safe from the computer gremlins that are plaguing your area missionary this week, so that you can continue to serve with joy, knowing all things will be made new at the coming of His Son, Our Savior Jesus Christ!
