Celebrating Life with Jesus

Celebrating the Life of a Good and Faithful Servant

Please be in prayer for former Area Missionary Don Kinberg, who served the Lord on this field for many years.  Don’s wife Ida passed into the arms of Jesus on February 20th.  A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, March 16th in Buckley, Washington. Condolences may be sent to the Kinberg family at PO Box 1454, Enumclaw, WA  98022.

When God’s people serve, things get done!

I was pleased to see several of the men of Aims Community Church putting their unique gifts and skills to work Wednesday to keep their ministry facilities safe.  The guys felled a couple of 60+ year old fir trees that were looming large over the parsonage, occasionally dropping branches in the wind.  It was nice to see Ben Dunlap, Dennis Rasmussen, Tom Granberg, Spencer Rogers and others dropping the massive trees into the church parking lot, bucking them up, then cleaning up the debris, all right before a heavy rain, wind and snowstorm hit Wednesday night!

Looking for musicians to help us praise Him! Columbia Bible Church in Rainier may be able to use your musical gifts in an upcoming worship service.  Pastor Robert and Bonny Klukas are looking for help with a couple of upcoming services, as the small church deals with the recent loss of a beloved congregant, and their long-time pianist is also facing health problems.  Contact Bonny at momkluk@aol.com .  There are also several other churches in the area who would appreciate your ministry of music.  Contact me at thiscox@infaith.org if the Lord is calling you to serve.

Woodland Park Chapel Celebrates a decade of blessing and renewal! A special celebration of God’s blessing will be held this Sunday, March 3 at 11:00 at Portland’s Woodland Park Chapel.  The congregation and several special guests will mark the anniversary of a renewal and revitalization of that ministry that began 10 years ago under the leadership of Pastor Brad Gentry and the late Pastor Mark Helmberger.

Blessings keep on falling! I am thankful for the Lord’s provision of a gas generator when PGE’s best efforts to keep electricity online are no match for the power of the weather.   I don’t mind the hum in the background on days like this, when I can look outside my office window and watch the snow gently falling on the trees.  I am eagerly awaiting spring, but also still enjoying the blessings of winter.  And maybe that is a reminder as we eagerly await the second coming of Jesus: let’s not forget to enjoy, celebrate and appreciate the little blessings the Lord gives us each day, reminding us He is always with us, “even into the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20)
